“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, and live along some distant day into the answer.” ~Rainer Maria Rilke
I miss Taiwan. I miss waking up every morning to go teach, playing games with all of my students, hanging out with all my TA’s, deep conversations with all of the friends I’ve met, photoshoots with my friends, exploring new places to eat, spending time with family, seeing all these beautiful sights…I just love it all. A part of my heart belongs to Taiwan-everything just feels right and I always feel so carefree.
Speaking of things I love to do in Taiwan, here are some pictures that my friend Lucy took while we were on one of our random photoshoots. She has one of those huge DSLR cameras, which are so much fun. Hopefully I’ll have enough money to buy one for myself one day!
Taiwan is all about adventure-even if that means crawling onto a nearby farm/backyard. Can you see that river?! If this was my backyard, life would be so great.
Lucy shot some of these pictures at the university we were staying at while teaching.
I love how the sun peeks through the trees…sunsets in Taiwan are beautiful no matter where you are.
Who says you can’t use soccer goalposts to model? Oh yeah.
Au natural. Shall I insert the Instagram hashtag here #nofilter ? Oops, I just did.
I feel like I’m in an Avatar scene…you know that scene where there are a bunch of hanging twigs that just glow in the dark? Maybe I should try connecting my hair to the branches, hahahaha.
And maybe this is the Tree of Life from Avatar.
Me being tired from climbing this metal thingy.
I remember skipping the first half of dinner to take these pictures and then halfway through my dinner, Lucy shrieked at me all of a sudden and said she had a really good idea for some more pictures…so we went back outside and took some more. Gotta love a friend who enjoys photography as much as you do.
